Sourdough Starter

Easy steps to make a sourdough starter, ready in 7 days:
you will need the following:
*1 regular size glass jar or cup (no twist cap)
* Small food scale
* Rubber band or a piece of tape

Ingredients:
đ«Whole wheat flour
đ«All purpose flour
đ«Filtered water (no tap water)
Directions:
đ« Day 1:
mix 1/4 cup (30 gr) whole wheat flour and 2 tablespoons (30 gr) of warm filtered water in your jar.
It will become a thick paste, add 1 tsp of water if too hard to stir.
Put a rubber band or a piece of tape to mark the level of the dough in the jar.
Cover jar with a plastic wrap, closing with a twist cap will create too much pressure.
place in a turned off oven or a warm dark spot (for 48 hours)
đ« Day 2:Â
Do nothing!Â
đ« Day 3:
Your starter should have a strong smell, as it should still, soon it will smell much better.
Mix contents of jar and pour out about half of the mixture and discard it (trash it, do not pour in your sink)
Add: 1/4 cup (30 gr) all purpose flour and 2 tablespoons (30 gr) of warm filtered water, mix it. Put aside.
đ« Day 4:Â
Your started should have started rising, if not, continue, it will happen.
Mix contents of jar and pour out about half of the mixture again and discard it.
Add: 1/4 cup (30 gr) all purpose flour and 2 tablespoons (30 gr) of warm filtered water, mix and put aside.
đ« Day 5:
Mix contents of jar and pour out about half of the mixture again and discard it.
Add: 1/2 cup (60 gr) all purpose flour and 1/4 cup (60 gr) of filtered water, mix, set aside.
đ« Day 6:
Mix contents of jar and pour out about half of the mixture again and discard it.
Add: 1/2 cup (60 gr) all purpose flour and 1/4 cup (60 gr) of warm filtered water, mix, set aside.
đ« Day 7:Â
Bake or feed? this will depend on your starter:
A. Is it bubblyâ
B. Has it risen at least twice the sizeâ
If you answered YES to both, you are ready for step 2.
If NO, continue another day or two with the same method.
