Basic Sponge Cake - 3 Ingredients

Save it! It’s the only sponge cake recipe you’ll ever need!
This recipe you won’t need to write down!
Just remember 3 basic ingredients for the sponge cake and a simple rule;
Ingredients:
💕Eggs
💕Sugar
💕Flour
👉Rule:
For every egg add 1 tbsp of sugar and 1 tbsp of flour. That’s it!

💕Directions:
Whip eggs (whole) with sugar for 8-10 minutes until white and fluffy then add the flour and mix gently. Done.
Here you can add your flavors such as vanilla, cinnamon, nuts, food coloring and so on.
For this thin layer sponge (photo) I used 4 eggs.
To this sponge base you can add color and flavor as you wish, works every time.
bake 350F 10-20 minutes depending on the depth of your pan.
Cool completely before any frosting.
Soak sponge with sugar water/orange juice or liquor bef frosting.
👉Use self rising flour for extra fluff or add 1/4 tsp of baking powder to cake mix
